The Heady Lure of Power and Greed

Is Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich related to O.J. Simpson? They appear to share the same delusion of being untouchable and above the law.

Gov Blag was arrested in his Chicago home yesterday while his family slept. He had been under federal investigation for at least three years. On many occasions, he has taunted the investigators during press conferences. The most recent time was the day before his arrest. He is charged with conspiracy to commit fraud for allegedly trying to sell off the senate seat vacated by Obama. He wanted cash and perks, including a better job for his wife.

The headiness of power sends some people off their rocker. I've known some of these people. Greed can often do the same.

If the governor is convicted, his sentence could be up to 20 years in prison. Meanwhile, until he resigns or is impeached, he still holds the power to name a person to the senate. (Highly unlikely.)

What are they eating in Illinois? I heard this little tidbit last night: Illinois has had four different governors in four years. Also, on average, one Illinois governor goes to prison roughly every 10 years.

I'm guessing the only state with more corrupt politicians is Louisiana.

Although Illinois is obviously challenging Louisiana for the most corrupt politicians, I believe the four different governors in four years is incorrect. Blag was elected to the office in 2002 after running an election campaign against corruption...the governor who he replaced (Ryan)was convicted and is serving a six and one half year sentence in prison for some sort of misdeed while in office as well.

I think that I now know why I was afraid of our President elect. All I could think of, when he first came on the sceene, was where did this guy come from. Now I have a hint. Patsy

Watch the spin doctors go to work to protect Obama on this one…Don’t say anything about Barack Hussein Obama. Don’t mention Ayers, Rev. Wright, Father Pfleger, school records, Rezko, Odinga, Kenya, voting present, Franklin Raines, Jim Johnson, Louis Farrakhan.

If you listen to the comments made by Blago you can tell there were conversations with Our President Elect Obama yet Barrack’s people were out at the same time the story hit, saying we have never spoke with Blago.

Chicago politics are dirty, and our beloved Obama is a product of them. This won’t touch Barrack but more and more of the President Elects stink will keep coming out. Any body wonder why the investigation has been going on for months yet he was arrested a safe distance after the election? If the investigation has been going on for months what did Blago know since the seat was not open yet?

Last why arrest Blago before he was caught in the actual act? Would it not hve been smarter to actually have Blago get stung? Unless there was more going on then we will ever know? Right now they have a lot of conversations and no actual act. It is funny they could have got so much more had someone not pulled the plug so soon.
